Administrative Office Technology
The Administrative Office Technology program offers a wide selection of career training opportunities in the Administrative, Accounting, and Marketing fields. Our graduates meet the constant demand for efficient administrative assistants, computer applications operators, marketing assistants, and bookkeepers. Students will receive one trimester (four months) of training in general office assistant skills and one trimester in office software.
DiplomaAutomotive Technology
The Automotive Technology program provides instruction in current methods of service and repair of automobiles. Students are taught the use of manuals and how to utilize available resources to assist in diagnosis and corrections of automotive problems. They are instructed in the proper use of equipment and tools. Throughout the course, students are prepared to take the ASE certifying examinations, which is offered twice per year in the Knoxville area.

DiplomaCosmetology
The Cosmetology program is designed to help the student master all the skills necessary for passing the State Board Examination, selecting the phase or phases of Cosmetology in which to specialize, and entering employment. The program also provides for the upgrading and updating of employed workers. Classroom instruction and practical learning experiences are interwoven into a variety of beauty treatments, including the care and beautification of the hair, complexion, and hands.

The Dental Assisting program prepares students to become members of the dental health care team. The course includes theory with demonstrations and classroom instruction. Students receive supervised experience performing procedures using study models, mannequins, and other simulated methods.

The Diesel Powered Equipment Technology program provides practical experience in the repair and maintenance of engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, clutch and transmissions, hydraulics, drivelines and axles, frame and suspension systems, steering systems, brake systems, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Students receive instruction in diagnosing trouble, system analysis, disassembly, replacing defective parts, reassembling, etc.

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration program is an individual program that prepares students to work in a variety of jobs in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration. Students are prepared to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial refrigeration; air conditioning; heat pumps; humidifiers; and electrical and gas heating. Students also learn the fundamentals of electricity, electric motors, and controls.

The Industrial Electricity is a NCCER program that utilizes classroom instruction and lecture, individualized modules, and hands-on experience to provide the student with the knowledge to be a electrical apprentice or electrical maintenance worker. The Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics Technology Program (IMM) is designed and managed to produce highly skilled individuals in the areas of mechanical and electrical industrial machinery repair. The program consists of Mechanical Training, to include numerous types of power transmission techniques, belt drive systems, chain drives, alignment methods, and also coupling methods. Students are trained in pneumatic and hydraulic symbology, operation and application.

The Medical Office Information Technology program prepares students to enter healthcare facilities such as hospitals, and doctor, dental, or chiropractic offices in a variety of positions. The program prepares students to be multi-skilled with knowledge of insurance codes for diagnoses and procedures, medical billing practices demonstrated with the Medisoft software, data entry for electronic health records and medical office administration skills.

The Nursing Aide/CNA course is approved by Tennessee Department of Health. This course will prepare the student to become a certified nursing assistant. Upon completion of the Nursing Aide course, the student is eligible to take the CNA test administered by D&S Diversified Technologies for the Tennessee Department of Health. Passing the state certification test provides the student with the title of CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

CertificatePipefitting And Plumbing Technology
The Pipefitting and Plumbing Technology program is a competency-based training program that takes 1296 hours (12 months) to complete. Actual time is dependent upon the length of time it takes to achieve each competency. The individualized concept allows each student to progress at his or her own learning rate. The training program prepares students for an entry-level position as a pipefitter or plumber.

DiplomaPractical Nursing
The Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Graduates will obtain a diploma in Practical Nursing and may then be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN), used to obtain nursing licensure in Tennessee. Practical Nursing is entry-level nursing. Graduates are prepared with the background and skills to give knowledgeable, basic nursing care to patients with varying degrees of physical needs.
DiplomaSurgical Technology
The Surgical Technology Program trains individuals to prepare the operating room, select and care for instruments, provide technical assistance to the surgeon and nursing team during surgery, and breakdown the room after the surgery. The program consists of four months of concentrated theory and lab practice, two months of integrated theory and clinical preparation, and six months of clinical practice.
DiplomaTruck Driving
The Truck Driving program prepares students to pass the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) test. The program includes instruction in Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as, logging procedures required by DOT and the trucking industry. The course provides actual experience in backing, driving on secondary roads, interstate roads, highways, and city streets. Students must have a CDL permit to start in the program.

The Welding Technology program prepares the student for certification in a variety of welding techniques and processes. Students begin doing basic welding beads and progress step-by-step to achieve the final goal of pipe welding. Progression is monitored and mastery of each technique is achieved by a combination of classroom, individual, and text book instruction.
